David Lewis Morgan is a singer/songwriter and guitarist in Austin, Texas. From Georgia and South Carolina, his journey to the beautiful Hill Country began as a Navy brat, traveling all over America and around the world. His musical education began on a ship returning from the Orient, 500 miles out in the Pacific Ocean from San Francisco when the ships’ radio began to pick up American radio stations and he heard the Beatles for the first time. Surfing and rock & roll were his two favorite things growing up. He attended Bullis Prep School in Maryland, and the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. His musical influences range from Elvis to the Motown sound to rock icons like the Allman Brothers, Blind Faith, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Neil Young, the Eagles, the Grateful Dead, Loggins and Messina and the Doobie Brothers.

David started playing guitar in high school, and wrote his first song, “Last Thing on My Mind” in 1986.  His song “Great Spirit” made it to the finals in the 2006 International Songwriting Contest, and two more took Third and Fourth Place wins in the Austin Songwriters Group’s 2007 Song Contest. He is on the Board of Directors for the Austin Songwriters Group, and spends his time raising his son, writing and playing guitar, gigging in Austin and the Hill Country, and working in public service in his community. His goals are four: be a good dad, make a difference in his community, be a part of the solution on Planet Earth, and write some really good songs to sing for the entire world to hear.
